K – 3: Life of plants & Creative Chemistry
Life of Plants
Young horticulturalists unite!
In this agricultural adventure, students will learn about the importance of plants by looking at the world from a plants perspective. By observing the plants and pollinators all around us, students will get a basic introduction to the scientific method. They will learn where plants came from, how they got here, and of their symbiotic relationship with their environment. No green thumb required.
Individual classes (Insect collection and relationship with plants), (How seeds get dispersed some roll other fly and some even explode), (Plant Preservation how to collect plant samples for future study they can preserve for years even decades.)
Creative Chemistry
Who says chemists aren’t creative?
A fun and creative introduction to Chemistry. From instant chemical reactions to DIY slime making, this lesson will excite and entertain any young scientist! Chemistry is the study of matter. Chemists explore chemical compounds, their properties, and how they interact with one another. Students will learn and explore the principles used to identify various chemical reactions. Using common and safe compounds that can be found around your house and kitchen, students will discover this magical, microscopic world of chemical reactions and learn the properties used to describe matter.
Individual Classes (Reaction or not discover how to identify a chemical relation and plow up some balloons with a chemical reaction), (Acids and Bases learn about the basic principle by exploring the chemistry of different foods), (Explore different properties of chemicals by seeing what will mix and what wont to create your own lava lamp)
